Stephen Perazzo currently serves as the Assistant Director of the Office of Training.  In this position, he administers the enterprise-wide oversight of structured policies and programs associated with Secret Service training and employee development.  Previously he served as the Deputy Assistant Director in the Office of Investigations overseeing the planning and coordination of investigative responsibilities of the Secret Service. Prior to this Mr. Perazzo served as the Special Agent in Charge of the Criminal Investigative Division leading the strategy for domestic and international criminal investigations including financial and cybercrimes.   

Prior to this position, Mr. Perazzo served as the Deputy Special Agent in Charge (DSAIC) of the New York Field Office. As the DSAIC, Mr. Perazzo directed all New York Field Office investigative and protective strategies, and supervised protective visits of the President, Vice President and former Presidents. Prior to assuming the DSAIC role, Mr. Perazzo served as Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAIC) of the New York Field Office, supervising all New York Field Office protective operations including the successful visit of Pope Francis in 2015 and security for three United Nations General Assembly’s.

Mr. Perazzo also held the position of ASAIC of the William Clinton Protective Division (WCD) where he was responsible for protective methodology, operations, and procedures for the former President and First Lady.  Previously, Mr. Perazzo served as the Secret Service Program Manager for the Legal Training Division at the James J. Rowley Training Center directing legal and ethics training.   In this position, he maintained oversight of all of the legal and ethics curriculums maintained at the academy and provided legal instruction.   

Mr. Perazzo has over 21 years of law enforcement experience, all with the United States Secret Service.  He was commissioned as a Special Agent in 1998 and served as a criminal investigator in the New York Field Office and as a Polygraph Examiner for the Service’s Forensic Services Division.  He served on the Presidential Protective Division during the George W. Bush and Barack Obama administrations.  He also served as the Legal Program Manager and Legal Instructor for the Department of Defense Polygraph Institute in Columbia, SC.

Mr. Perazzo holds six graduate degrees, with the highest degree attained as a Masters of Laws in Taxation from Temple University School of Law. His undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Arts from Seton Hall University.  He previously was employed as an associate with the law firm of Marshall, Dennehy, Warner, Coleman & Goggin located in Cherry Hill, NJ.
