Policy Areas
The Clinical and Healthcare Research Policy Division is responsible for biomedical and behavioral research policy development in two program areas: clinical research policy and healthcare research policy.
The Scientific Data Sharing Policy Division is responsible for biomedical research policy development in two program areas: Genomics and Health; and Scientific Data Management.
The Technology Transfer and Innovation Policy Division is responsible for overseeing and serving as the NIH resource on matters involving technology transfer and innovation policies.
The Science Policy Coordination, Collaboration, and Reporting Division, through consultation, synthesis and analysis, collaborates with all Institutes, Centers and Offices of NIH to: coordinate NIH’s interactions with other Federal and non-governmental agencies; capture the impact of NIH; and, report on NIH accomplishments and initiatives.
The Biosafety, Biosecurity, and Emerging Biotechnology Policy Division is responsible for developing and implementing federal policies that promote the responsible conduct and oversight of life sciences research, with a focus on the areas of biosafety and recombinant DNA activities, biosecurity, and emerging biotechnologies.
