All sessions are conducted by a Data Dissemination Specialist from the Census Bureau and will be between 30 minutes to two hours in length. Last week was the 150th birthday of children’s author, Laura Ingalls Wilder and today marks the 160th birthday of her husband, Almanzo WIlder. Wilder is a well-known character in his wife's "Little House" books. #OnThisDay President Truman nominated Dr. Roy Victor Peel to be director of the Census Bureau in 1950. Peel joined the agency just months before the 1950 Census, which included the continental United States, the territories of Alaska and Hawaii, American Samoa, the Canal Zone, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands of the United States, and other island territories.
