Beginning January 1, 2013, you will be asked to show one of the following Photo IDs at your polling place:
- S.C. Driver's License
- ID Card issued by S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles
- S.C. Voter Registration Card with Photo
- Federal Military ID
- U.S. Passport

2012 General Election Protests & Appeals
The following is a list of protests and appeals filed with the State Election Commission for the 2012 General Election. Protests for countywide and less-than-countywide offices are filed with the appropriate county election commission. Protests heard by county election commissions may be appealed to the State Election Commission.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (November 6, 2012) - South Carolina voters turned out today in large numbers across the state. Initial reports from precincts indicate voter turnout is likely to be on-par with the record-breaking 2008 General Election.
