December 2019	Cost-to-Charge Ratio Files for the 2017 National Inpatient Sample (NIS) Cost-to-Charge Ratio Files for the 2017 Nationwide Readmissions Database (NRD) New information has been released in HCUP Fast Stats - Hurricane Impact on Hospital Use. This topic presents the percent change in population-based inpatient and emergency department utilization rates pre- versus post-hurricane for 11 U.S hurricanes between 2005 and 2017. Additionally, new data for 2017 through 2019 has been released in the State Trends in Hospital Use by Payer topic.

September 2019	HCUP Fast Stats AHRQ has released new information in HCUP Fast Stats—Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) Among Newborn Hospitalizations. This new topic provides trends in NAS-related newborn hospitalizations at the national level and for 45 States and the District of Columbia, representing over 95 percent of the U.S. population. Rates of NAS per 1,000 newborn hospitalizations are presented overall as well as by sex, expected payer, community-level income, and patient location. The number of NAS newborn hospitalizations, median hospitalization cost (actual and inflation-adjusted), and median length of stay are also presented overall.

April 2019	HCUP Fast Stats—AHRQ has released new information in HCUP Fast Stats—Opioid-Related Hospital Use to include new inpatient and emergency department (ED) data. Since the last update in October 2018, this section includes additional 2017 inpatient data (29 States), 2017 ED data (22 States), 2018 inpatient data (15 States), and 2018 ED data (4 States).
March 2019	HCUP Fast Stats—AHRQ has released new information in HCUP Fast Stats—Trends in Inpatient Stays. This section of the larger National Hospital Utilization and Costs topic examines national trends in inpatient utilization, costs, and mortality across a variety of patient characteristics. The update adds national statistics for 2016 to this section of Fast Stats.
