According to the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), about 2.5 million members of all armed forces units have been deployed to Afghanistan or Iraq since 2001 to fight wars, with more than a third completing more than one deployment.
Humanities Washington launched a program called Talking Service to provide a voice to these vets, buoyed by literature.
