About the Office

The Office of Planning and Analytics (OPA) works to enhance PHMSA's planning and program management, data analysis, and rulemaking capabilities. 

OPA enhances PHMSA's ability to develop a regulatory agenda that is forward-looking, innovative, and data driven; Improve PHMSA's market intelligence and data and economic analysis, strengthening strategic planning and performance; and Facilitate information sharing and drive consistency in how PHMSA collects and uses data. Quality data is the key to how PHMSA's Pipeline Safety and Hazardous Materials Safety offices access and interpret safety risks.

The senior executive leading this effort is the Associate Administrator for Planning and Analytics.
