Executive Director

Base salary: $55,000 - $65,000

 Qualified candidates must have significant policy and communications experience, particularly regarding reproductive health. The Executive Director shall oversee operations of the Caucus including, but not limited to:

Digital Communications Manager

The office of U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal (WA-07), Co-Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, seeks an experienced and creative digital communications associate with exceptional writing abilities to lead the office’s efforts online. This is not an entry level position.

Reporting to the Communications Director and working in a fast-paced environment, the Digital Communications Associate will be responsible for the development and daily execution of the office’s digital strategy—including creating social media posts in the voice of the Congresswoman, compelling graphics, engaging videos, captioned clips, policy-based blog posts, informative newsletters, and well-written video scripts. Ideal candidates will have at least one year or one campaign cycle of digital experience. * Experience producing professional-quality photos, videos, and graphics is required. * Proficiency with Premiere, Lightroom, Photoshop, or other Adobe suite programs is preferred. * An understanding of HTML and CSS, and experience using a Fireside or another constituent management system is preferred.   SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: * Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills; * Strong communication skills; * A strong understanding of print, broadcast, and online media; * Strong digital design skills and understanding of social media; * Extensive video editing experience and production skills; * Knowledge of current issues; * Ability to perform essential job functions above; and * Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with others.   WORKING CONDITIONS: * Due to COVID-19 work is mainly from home until the pandemic subsides. * When work conditions return to normal, the work is mainly performed in an office environment. Noise levels are usually moderate. You will be expected to work in a small work station without an expectation of privacy.

Legislative Intern

All 2021 Spring internships in our Washington, DC office will be fully virtual as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.   The deadline for spring applications is Tuesday, December 8, 2020. This is a paid position: accepted applicants will receive a pro-rated stipend.   The Office of Rep. Josh Harder is currently seeking interns for the months January-May. Our hands-on internship program offers highly motivated undergraduates and recent graduates the opportunity to gain real-world experience in government and politics. Over the course of their service, interns will gain a deeper knowledge of the federal government and strengthen their communications, writing, problem-solving, and time-management skills. We do our best to accommodate requirements for college credit.
