Daily Treasury Statement

The Daily Treasury Statement summarizes the US Treasury’s cash and debt operations for the Federal Government on a modified cash basis. Deposits are reported as received and withdrawals are reported as processed.

Current Daily Treasury Statement

The DTS presents a summary of:

  • Operating Cash Balance
  • Deposits and Withdrawals of Operating Cash
  • Public Debt Transactions
  • Federal Tax Deposits
  • Short-Term Cash Investments
  • Income Tax Refunds Issued

The information is provided by Federal Reserve Banks, Treasury Regional Financial Centers, Internal Revenue Service Centers, Bureau of the Fiscal Service and various electronic systems. Treasury’s operating cash is maintained in an account at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

Announcements

The Bureau of the Fiscal Service is modernizing the Daily Treasury Statement (DTS) to better align its reporting with the Monthly Treasury Statement (MTS).

The following changes will occur for the DTS date of 01/11/21, published on 01/12/21:

  • Reporting for Export-Import Bank in Table 2 (deposit and withdrawal side) will show daily.
  • Change the name of Gas and Oil Lease Sales Proceeds to DOI – Gas and Oil Lease Sales Proceeds in Table 2 (deposit side).  
  • Reporting previously reported to Interior: Bureau of Land Management, Interior: Office of Surface Mining and Minerals Management Svc/Collections will be reported to DOI – Land and Minerals Management in Table 2 (deposit side). This line will show daily.
  • Reporting previously reported to Interior (Central Utah Project and United States Geological Survey) and Interior: Bureau of Reclamation will be reported to DOI – Water and Science in Table 2 (deposit side). This line will show daily.
  • Reporting previously reported to Interior for United States Fish and Wildlife Service and National Park Service will be reported to DOI - Fish and Wildlife and Parks in Table 2 (deposit side). This line will show daily.
  • Change the name of Interior to Dept of Interior (DOI) – misc in Table 2 to show the remaining Department of Interior reporting.  This line will  show daily.
  • Reporting previously reported to Interior: Bureau of Land Mgmt, Interior: Office of Surface Mining and Minerals Management Service (Bureau of Ocean Energy Management potion) will be reported to DOI – Land and Minerals Management in Table 2 (withdrawal side). This line will show daily.
  • Reporting previously reported to Interior (National Park Service portion) and Interior: Fish & Wildlife Service will be reported to DOI - Fish and Wildlife and Parks in Table 2 (withdrawal side). This line will show daily.
  • Reporting previously reported to Interior (United States Geological Survey) and Unclassified (Bureau of Reclamations and Central Utah Project) will be reported to DOI – Water and Science in Table 2 (withdrawal side). This line will show daily.
  • Change the name of the Interior to Dept of Interior (DOI) – misc in Table 2 to show the remaining Department of Interior reporting including, Mineral Leasing and Associated Payments previously reported to Minerals Management Service. This line will show daily.
