State and local government compensation costs average $52.94 per hour worked in Sep 2020

Wage and salary costs for state and local government workers averaged $32.74 per hour worked and benefit costs averaged $20.20 in September 2020. Health insurance costs were $6.06 per hour, accounting for 11.4 percent of total compensation costs.
