Summer 2020 PSIP canceled

On Friday, March 13, DCSA made the difficult decision to cancel our Paid Student Internship Program (PSIP) for the summer of 2020. We know that many applicants share our disappointment, but with the evolving COVID-19 situation, we were unable to guarantee that we could provide a rewarding experience for all of our summer hires. We look forward to the program returning in the summer of 2021 and encourage you to apply again if interested.

Paid Student Internship Program (PSIP)

The PSIP is a highly competitive program that seeks to attract a diverse group of bright and innovative students for positions located throughout the country. This program provides a temporary, summer long, work opportunity designed to expose students, pursuing both undergraduate and graduate degrees, to the agency’s culture and to provide real world experience in various career fields. The program also allows supervisors to evaluate and provide feedback on students’ work habits and performance, which will facilitate the students’ professional development. Because DCSA is an Excepted Service agency and does not participate in OPM’s Pathways Program, successful completion of the PSIP does not guarantee a permanent appointment to full-time Federal service. However, upon completion of the internship, students are encouraged to apply to any available positions within the agency. All interested students must apply through USAJobs.gov. Non-Paid Student Volunteer Internship Program (NPSV)

The NPSV Program offers an unpaid work experience for outstanding students who are pursuing their Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees. The program provides an intensive educational learning opportunity in which interns work with our managers to gain experience in the area of national security. Assignments serve to support the academic and professional development of the student, and accomplish the DCSA mission. Students in geographic proximity to our headquarters and field offices are welcome to apply. Click here for a list of our locations.
