The Association of American State Geologists (AASG) represents the State Geologists of the 50 United States and Puerto Rico. Founded in 1908, AASG seeks to advance the science and practical application of geology and related earth sciences in the United States and its territories, commonwealths, and possessions.
As geoscientists, humanitarians, Americans, and members of society, AASG joins in the outcry over continuing unjust treatment of people of color in this country. The Association of American State Geologists, during our annual meeting held the week of June 8, 2020, took active steps toward renewing our efforts to face injustices and are committing to challenge and change the biases that lead to discriminatory practices against people of color. Our members will strive to promote equality to all, across the full spectrum of society.
