BUDGET AND APPROPRIATIONS

HUD-OIG’s appropriation is included as part of the Transportation and Housing and Urban Development (THUD) appropriations bill. Like most other federal agencies the OIG submits a budget request to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) which is included in the President’s budget transmitted to Congress each fiscal year. The OIG’s appropriation supports the personnel cost of all OIG staff and the resources necessary to execute our mission. OIG operational expenses include travel, training, office space, supplies, and contractual services that support a nationwide network of investigators, auditors, and evaluators.
