NRCEC 2020

The National Research Conference on Early Childhood 2020 (NRCEC 2020) will be held virtually on Monday, November 30 – Thursday, December 3, 2020. Those whose submissions were accepted to the conference will be receiving separate communications regarding this transformation.

The Virtual NRCEC 2020 will present four days of sessions that highlight research relevant to policy and the programs and services for young children from low income families. It is our hope that shifting to a virtual platform will increase the diversity of engaged participation, and we invite you to join us in this new online venture!

The virtual event will be spread out over four days and will include greetings from ACF leadership, an opening session, master lectures and breakout sessions, as well as dynamic poster presentations. Start times will be planned to encourage participation from across multiple U.S. time zones. Updates regarding the conference agenda and registration will be provided via the NRCEC website and email list.

About NRCEC

Since 1991, ACF’s National Research Conference on Early Childhood (formerly known as Head Start’s National Research Conference on Early Childhood) has highlighted cutting edge research on low-income families with young children.

The conference supports dialogue between researchers, policymakers, and program and administrative staff. This active dialogue strengthens education for young children, brings the latest information to those establishing national policies for low-income families, and contributes to the development of a meaningful research agenda in the early care and education field.

RECS 2020

The 20th Research and Evaluation Conference on Self-Sufficiency (RECS) was held virtually on October 13 – 15 and October 19 – 22, 2020.

The Virtual RECS 2020 provided a valuable opportunity to hear the latest findings from evaluations of human services programs and policies, discuss ways to incorporate findings into the design and implementation of programs, and identify future evaluation needs. Following the cancellation of our planned in-person conference in May, the conference agenda was spread out over two weeks in October with shorter conference days to ensure that content is delivered in digestible segments online.

About RECS

For more than 20 years, the RECS has been a leading forum for researchers, state and local administrators, practitioners, policymakers, and federal officials to discuss cutting-edge research on family economic self-sufficiency and social welfare programs and policies.
