Northeast

An Enforcement Officer issued a NJ recreational fisherman a $500 summary settlement for possessing and attempting to enter an undersized mako shark into a recreational shark tournament.

An Enforcement Officer boarded a vessel in the EEZ off the coast of Long Branch, New Jersey. The vessel owner was found to be in possession of striped bass and will be issued a $250.00 Summary Settlement.
Southeast
- A Sunrise Special Agent conducted a patrol of the cargo warehouses at Miami International Airport with FWCC investigators as well as their major and commissioner. A shipment of Tuna was examined. No violations were found.
- Four Enforcement Officers conducted a multi-day Turtle Excluder Device (TED) operation off the coast of Grand Isle, LA. Inclement weather and high seas limited activity however, the officers boarded five shrimp boats. Officers provided compliance assistance to one shrimp boat captain for having an overlap greater than 15 inches on a TED.
West Coast

Two Enforcement Officers participated in a Multi-Agency Strike Force Operation. The team inspected 194 containers over a two-day period, with six holds and eight Washington State Police investigations initiated. No NOAA OLE cases.
