One of the primary goals of SNAP is to improve the diet of low-income Americans. You can help by offering incentives to encourage SNAP recipients to purchase healthier foods at your SNAP authorized store. Such incentives assist your SNAP customers in stretching their dollars.
- Fruits;
- Vegetables, including legumes (beans and peas), starchy, and other;
- Dairy; and/or
- Whole grains.
A SNAP customer may redeem incentives to purchase eligible incentive foods.
- The FNS number, name, and address of each participating firm. If you are a nonprofit or governmental entity that plans to partner with authorized SNAP retailers, please provide a copy of your Memorandum of Understanding or joint agreement as well;
- A description of the incentive program, including the following:
- The types of foods that will be incentivized (e.g., fruits and vegetables);
- How the recipients of the incentive will be identified;
- Whether the incentives will be limited to SNAP participants;
- How the incentive will be triggered or earned;
- How the incentive will be delivered [coupons, gift cards, loyalty cards, other (describe)];
- How the incentive will be redeemed; and
- The goal of the incentive initiative
3. The incentive program start and end dates; and,
4. Information that the store will collect and analyze to measure program impact.
