Excellence in science and its application to natural resource decision-making is the hallmark of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

The Science Applications program supports collaborative conservation with partners on shared priorities across landscapes to establish and sustain a network of connected lands and waters for the United States.

The Science Applications program was established in 2009 to bring partners together with the agency to identify shared conservation priorities, and to develop science products and technical capacities needed to support on-the-ground conservation at scales ranging from landscapes to species.

We strive to uphold and innovate that founding principle through our programmatic focusing areas:

• Cooperative landscape conservation
• Science needs and pro-active approaches for conserving at-risk species
• Collaboration with state fish and wildlife agencies, Tribes, and other partners
• Scientific information delivery in accessible and usable tools and formats
• Enterprise-level data management
• Science integrity
• Diversity and inclusion for the next generation Service scientists
