Conservation Business Management
Conservation Business Management describes an integrated set of business processes, practices & tools that enable the Service to better define, invest in, and deliver measurable improvements to populations of targeted species – improving our ability to prioritize efforts and focus our limited resources on the conservation actions that will have the greatest impacts, and make the greatest difference to the species that we are charged to conserve.
Organizational Performance Management
Organizational performance management at FWS was developed to streamline business processes and develop a performance based culture. Our comprehensive performance management solution integrates budgeting and planning processes with financial and performance management solutions. The integrated framework aligns and cascades performance information from DOI to FWS Programs.
Business Process Innovations
The Human Capital Management System (HCMS) is an automated, web-based tool that managers can use to create and store position descriptions and job analysis components (such as knowledge required by the position and selective factors). The tool provides managers and supervisors an automated suite of relevant and reliable reference materials that pre-populate PDs and job analysis components.
The Division of Conservation Business Management provides basic video tutorials and PowerPoint presentation materials to assist FWS Employees with Cognos licenses in using the automated tools needed to support performance management. Additional information and user guides are also available to support Conservation Management tools, Business Process Innovations tools (i.e. PD Express) and SES Performance Accomplishment Reporting.
