Financial and Business Management System (FBMS)
Conserving the Nature of America

Welcome to the Financial and Business Management System (FBMS) site.

The Financial and Business Management System (FBMS) integrates and streamlines the Department of the Interior's financial and administrative functions across all DOI Bureaus. Currently, the lack of integration among DOI systems burdens resources and hinders real-time business decision making. Implementing FBMS supports the Department in incorporating its financial and business management processes into a single solution that eliminates the need for more than 80 DOI- and bureau- specific systems currently in operation.

DOI has adopted a phased approach to deploying FBMS across its Bureaus. To date, the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSM), The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEMRE), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) have deployed FBMS. These Bureaus are using functionality to perform operations related to core financials, acquisitions, personal property, fleet management, financial assistance, and travel management.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will be the next Bureau, along with the Office of the Secretary, to deploy FBMS in November 2011; the Department refers to this effort as Deployment 6 (D6). The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation), National Park Service (NPS), and Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) are scheduled to deploy FBMS following us as part of Deployment 7 scheduled for November 2012.

Employees interested in learning more about our FBMS deployment should visit our FBMS intranet homepage on InsideFWS at the following link: FBMS on InsideFWS.
