Overview

The Duty to Serve (DTS) requires Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (Enterprises) to facilitate a secondary market for mortgages on housing for very low-, low-, and moderate-income families in: Manufactured housing, Affordable housing preservation, and Rural housing.  Learn more about the underserved markets.

The 2018-2020 Plans describe specific activities each Enterprise will undertake to fulfill their Duty to Serve obligations in each underserved market.

Noteworthy

FHFA, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac recently hosted three virtual listening sessions for stakeholders to provide feedback on the Enterprises' proposed modifications to their 2020 Duty to Serve Plans and proposed additions to their 2021 Duty to Serve Plans for the manufactured housing, affordable housing preservation, and rural housing markets.  Transcripts from these sessions, along with the Enterprises' proposed 2020 modifications and 2021 Plans are available here:
