First day cover postcard featuring, on the left, a cachet of a nurse administering medication to a patient whose hand is shown holding a glass of water. The center of the posctard has a Washington, D.C. first day of issue cancel. The right side of the postcard has four 4 cent stamps showing a nurse lighting a candle. The stamps were issued by the U.S. Postal Service on December 28, 1961 to commemorate the centenary of the nursing profession.
