Welcome to the Coastal and Marine Ecological Classification Standard (CMECS) Community Forum.
This site is managed by the CMECS Implementation Group (IG). Our goal is to facilitate working relationships between CMECS users by:
- keeping the CMECS user community informed of CMECS-related activities, meetings, and conferences
- sharing recommended classification application methods, guidelines, and other technical advice with the user community
- providing a means for users to submit questions to the IG and the larger community, through our Community Forum (please be sure to visit our Rules and Guidelines before participating in the forum)
- sharing publications and outreach materials
This site complements the official CMECS web site and the on-line CMECS Catalog of Units. The CMECS web site provides access to guidance material for applying CMECS, information on existing projects, and crosswalks to other commonly-used classification systems.
The CMECS Community Forum Site is part of the Confluence My.USGS Platform. If you are not part of USGS you can view the site, but to participate in the forum you need to become a member. Please email us at ocm.cmecs-ig@noaa.gov for instructions on how to join.
