Institutional Clinician-Scientist Research Training Programs
Support for mentored career development and training of child neurologists appointed by an institution for development of independent research skills and experience in a fundamental science within the framework of an interdisciplinary research and development program.
To facilitate and support a national program of mentored advanced research career development for junior neurosurgeon faculty at institutions nationwide that support neurological research.
The purpose of the NINDS Research Education Program for Residents and Fellows in Neurological Disorders and Stroke is to support the development and/or implementation of programs that relate to research education and training of clinical residents and fellows to foster careers as physician-scientists.
Research Education Programs
To support neuroscience research education programs in all areas (basic, clinical and translational) that will significantly advance the mission of NINDS.
To encourage and prepare undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds to enter PhD degree programs in the neurosciences.
To provide high quality research experience for students or high school teachers during the summer academic break.
Supports NINDS & NIMH mission-relevant programs to increase the pool of PhD-level neuroscience researchers from diverse backgrounds underrepresented in biomedical research.
Institutional National Research Service Award Training Programs
An award to enable institutions to recruit individuals selected by the program leadership for advanced research training of predoctoral students and postdoctoral fellows in an area of neuroscience.
An award to enable institutions to recruit individuals selected by the program leadership for research training in neuroscience of predoctoral students in their first two years in a PhD program.
