TTB Regulated Industry – Tobacco

On December 20, 2019, the President signed legislation to amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act), and raise the federal minimum age of sale of tobacco products from 18 to 21 years. The FD&C Act is administered by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Questions about the new minimum age of sale of tobacco products can be directed to AskCTP@fda.hhs.gov.

Our regulations require that anyone who intends to manufacture, importer, or export tobacco products obtain a permit from TTB. Certain tobacco-related businesses, including those listed below, must file an application with and receive approval from TTB before engaging in business.
