Recent Strategies

As called for in the "American Homeownership and Economic Opportunity Act of 2000," HUD established the Regulatory Barriers Clearinghouse (RBC) to collect, process, assemble, and disseminate information on state and local regulations and policies affecting the creation and maintenance of affordable housing. The clearinghouse is hosted by HUD USER, the primary source for federal government reports and information on housing policy and programs, building technology, economic development, urban planning, and other housing-related topics.

Search Database

The RBC Database is an easy-to-use, searchable resource that contains summaries of and links to various types of documents, including judicial decisions, ordinances, research papers, state and local government reports, and websites that offer information on regulatory barriers and strategies being implemented in communities across the nation to promote the development and preservation of affordable housing.
