Research Results

Research Result Papers.Research Results are brief, plain language reports written for nontechnical and technical audiences. These reports summarize the findings of projects associated with track, rolling stock, train control and communications, or human factors research. Research Results may also be used for intermediate project reporting after a significant milestone has been reached or in lieu of a full Technical Report for short projects. Refer to the Guidelines for Writing Research Results for more information.

Technical Reports

Technical Reports provide an in-depth description and analysis of research work undertaken by FRA or its sponsored organizations.  The reports present research to internal and external stakeholders, complete with technical specifications and results for final publication. The Technical Report Guidelines are designed to offer explanations and examples of the types of information to consider including in Technical Reports and where to incorporate this information within the framework of the Technical Report Template.  While not exhaustive, the guidelines will help authors to effectively communicate the key messages and ideas of the research study.
