This study chronicles the FDIC’s response to two overlapping financial crises: the financial crisis of 2008–2009 and the banking crisis of 2008–2013. The history explains what occurred and shares lessons learned.

Small Business Lending Survey

The FDIC surveyed approximately 1,200 banks to understand their small business lending practices. The survey findings detail many aspects of lending for both small and large banks and shed light on current bank consolidation trends.
