COVID-19 Information

Country-Specific Information: Qatar has 1,325 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 3 COVID-19 deaths as of April 4, 2020 (Ministry of Public Health).

The government of Qatar has implemented enhanced screening and quarantine measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19, including permitting only Qatari citizens to enter the country.  At this time, U.S. citizens may still depart and transit Qatar.  However, travelers should be prepared for travel restrictions to be put into effect with little or no advance notice. U.S. citizens who are considering returning to the United States are urged to work with their airlines to make travel arrangements while flights are still available.  Many travelers worldwide have reported unexpected flight cancellations and limited flight availability.  If your travel has been disrupted, please contact your airline.

In line with the Government of Qatar’s restrictions on gathering, the U.S. Embassy is limiting services to American Citizens. If you are in need of an urgent U.S. citizen service, such as a passport renewal or Consular Report of Birth Abroad, please email ACSDoha@state.gov.
