MasterCard Advisors' SpendingPulse retail sales data are out, and the results are impressive. Excluding auto sales, total retail sales grew by 8.8% year-over-year. This growth is stronger than in March, and significantly higher than the average 7.1% year-to-year growth rate of Q1. Seasonally adjusted retail sales (excluding both autos and gasoline) were up 1.4%, the fourth straight month of growth. read »
