Coronavirus: What You Should Know
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is following federal, state and local public health authority guidance to implement a phased approach to increase public access to agency lands and facilities, including national wildlife refuges and national fish hatcheries.
Based on this guidance and in accordance with the White House and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we are beginning to safely increase access. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is focused on ensuring employees, their families, volunteers, and visitors are safe by following the most current guidance from coronavirus.gov and state and local public health authorities.
Facility Status
Although most refuge and hatchery lands and outdoor spaces have remained open for the public to enjoy, we encourage you to:
- Review our site closures page for facility closings before visiting
- Follow current CDC safe practices by maintaining a safe distance between yourself and other groups
- Wear a cloth face mask/covering over the nose and mouth, especially when social distancing is difficult
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
- Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze
- Most importantly, stay home if you feel sick
