Publisher Resources: Accessing Textbooks and Course Materials

Many publishers provided complimentary access to online texts and course tools as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Here's a description of their efforts, with links to some of the resources, but most of the free trials expired when the spring 2020 term ended.  If you have questions or would like assistance navigating the resources, email affordability@unt.edu

Central Access to Publishers

Vital Source worked with a variety of publishers for spring 2020 to allow faculty and students to access their digital course materials through their platform. We recommend you check this site first.  Visit here to find your course materials. 

Pearson

Pearson developed a resource site with information from Pearson regarding continuing education during uncertain times.  Pearson developed free webinars and best practices to support faculty transitioning to online. McGraw Hill

McGraw Hill offered faculty complimentary access to their core digital learning platforms, McGraw-Hill Connect and ALEKS for the remainder of the spring 2020 term. Find your representative for your discipline here to determine what resources are available for fall 2020.

Cengage

Cengage developed a resource page found here.

Macmillan

Macmillan offered students free access to LaunchPad, Sapling, FlipIt, and iClicker for students through the end of the spring 2020 semester.  If you have questions for your Macmillan learning representative, please find and email your Macmillan Learning Representative by clicking here .  Macmillan offered various training through webinars, click here to learn more

Wiley

Wiley has accessible links to view online catalogs for each platform for courseware in varying subject areas: WileyPLUS catalogKnewton Alta catalog and ,zyBooks catalog. Wiley supported continuity of learning with WileyPLUS or Knewton Alta in spring 2020.  Additionally, courseware support can be found for various Wiley products: WileyPLUSKnewtonzyBooks

Soomo

Soomo developed a round-up of resources from schools and organizations to assist faculty in transitioning to online for spring 2020. Soomo offered a collection of original videos for humanities and social sciences courses including American government, history, writing, and psychology free to any interested instructor for spring 2020.  For additional inquiries, email instructorsupport@soomolearning.com

  • This is a community-sourced list of video and other licensed content that library vendors are making available on free or modified terms during the COVID-19 outbreak.   • Educause, a non-profit association, compiled a google document that lists corporations and service providers who are offering special discounts on technology, open educational resources, and access services as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
