According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, dental assisting is one of the fastest-growing occupations in the U.S. Dentists have voiced support for increasing the supply of trained professionals in an effort to improve patient care. These are a couple of reasons to consider this rapid-paced, fulfilling career.
PDI’s Dental Assistant program offers practical, hands-on training during an intensive, 14-week program. Students meet two evenings per week and every other Saturday morning. The program consists of 160 total hours of training.
These hours include an important Externship which includes working/observing in a functioning dental facility. This program is a hands-on learning experience.
Train with x-ray systems and utilize dental practice software while preparing to take the State licensing exam, offered at the conclusion of the program.
Program Consultant Dr. Danny Baird, DDS, has a Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry. He began his dental practice in 1986.
Lewisville Consultant Dr. Whitney Wolff earned a BBA from Baylor University in Waco with Magna Cum Laude honors. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas.
Terri Webb, RDA (Registered Dental Assistant), head instructor, brings 20 years of experience to the program. She attended Northwestern State University.
Scott Baird is a retired firefighter/emergency medical technician, an instructor trainer for the American Heart Association and a hearing and vision screener certified by the Texas State Department of Health Services.
