Since the office’s formation, community engagement and strategic partnership initiatives have been primarily focused upon creating opportunities for existing students to make career connections with organizations that appreciate UNT’s diverse student population. Members of these and other organizations have also enhanced the division’s programming through engagement opportunities such as mentorship, serving as speakers, or other resources.

The office also leverages the immense talent among its alumni population by liaising with UNT’s Alumni Association and encouraging alumni to connect their industry and personal expertise with our students and programs.

Hilti partners with UNT for first-ever Team Talk on Diversity

Director of Diversity Shani Barrax Moore joined Hilti CEO Martina McIsaac and VP of Human Resources Alison Braman for an introductory conversation on race with more than 1,000 of its employees. Hilti served as the Inclusive Excellence Award sponsor for the 2020 Equity & Diversity Conference, through which they developed a partnership with UNT’s Division of Institutional Equity & Diversity to advance their diversity and inclusion efforts.
