Credit Card Purchases: The monthly fee will automatically be charged on the first of each month. There will be a pro-rated amount owed at the time of purchase to cover the initial costs for the current month.

Payroll Deduction Purchases: In order to successfully sign up for payroll deduction you must fill out the 2020-2021 Payroll Deduction form (click the "Payroll Deduction Form 2020-2021" button below) and return it to the Rec Center in person. We cannot accept emailed forms. The monthly membership amount will be deducted from your paycheck each month. Based on the way our payroll deduction system works, if you sign up after the 10th of the month, you would owe a pro-rated amount up front that would include the initial costs for the current month and the next month’s amount. If you sign up before the 10th of the month you will only owe a pro-rated amount for the current month.

Please also note: This option is currently unavailable for 9-month employees. 9-month employees can use the monthly recurring credit card membership option for the same price. Payroll deduction will also no longer be a "payment for services already rendered." It will now pay for the month in which the deduction occurs (i.e. September 1 deduction pays for the month of September). Because of this there will be a required credit card payment at the time of purchase to get "caught up" to the month when the first deduction will happen.

Join the Faculty/Staff Fitness Program! This program allows a full-time faculty or staff member 30 minutes of administrative leave (up to three times per week) as approved by their supervisor. Participants must be a member of the Pohl Recreation Center to be eligible for administrative leave. To register for the program fill out the Faculty/Staff Fitness Registration form and stop by the Member Services desk or the Rec Sports main office.

Current and retired faculty and staff employees and currently enrolled students may sponsor one individual for membership defined as the Plus One membership type. Individuals must be 18 years or older at the time of membership, live full-time in the same residence as the sponsoring member during the term of the membership, and show written proof of eligibility and residence. Proof of eligibility and residence includes a current driver’s license showing age and residence, a utility bill or bank account jointly reflecting the name of the member and person being sponsored, or marriage license. The sponsoring member must appear in person each time the membership is purchased or renewed to verify his or her agreement to sponsor the individual and must sign the membership agreement but does not need to be a current UNT Pohl Recreation Center member. Individuals who misrepresent their eligibility for membership or who sponsor an individual who is not eligible for membership will have their membership permanently revoked and be subject to disciplinary action. No refund will be given when a membership is revoked.

Alumni memberships are available only to those who previously held an Alumni membership that expired at the end of August 2020.

Alumni must be a member of the University of North Texas Alumni Association to purchase a membership at the Rec Center. A University of North Texas Alumni Association ID card OR a copy of the confirmation email from the UNT Alumni Association confirming your membership is required at the time of purchase. Faculty and staff who have retired from UNT and have a valid UNT Retiree card are eligible to purchase a membership at the Rec Center. Retirees are charged a reduced rate.

Memberships can be cancelled by contacting the Recreational Sports office or sending your cancellation request to Ryan.Comfort@unt.edu or Laura.Palacios@unt.edu. Cancellations will take effect at the end of the month the request was received.

All approved refunds will be processed by the method below that corresponds to your original purchase:
1) In-person payments made by credit card will be refunded to the original card used at the time of payment.
2) Online purchases will automatically credit the card used for purchase.
3) Cash and check payments will be refunded via campus issued check and may take up to 30 days to process.
