About The Letterwinners Association

MENTOR. INSPIRE. SUPPORT.

The North Texas Athletic Department wants to sustain the unique fellowship born of competition among UNT student-athletes, and, in doing so, involve its past letterwinners in developing and growing Mean Green athletics. To that end, the members of the  Letterwinners Association have adopted the following mission goals:

  • to mentor UNT student-athletes and help them exemplify the highest ideals of competition and sportsmanship
  • to inspire and instill a sense of history, tradition, and pride in current and future generations of Mean Green student-athletes
  • to support North Texas athletics, whether through donations, fund-raising events, volunteering, or just attending games to cheer on the Mean Green

If you are a former North Texas  letterwinner, we invite you to be an active member of the Letterwinners Association. But to do so, you must register.

Membership Benefits

In addition to making a difference in the lives of current and future North Texas student-athletes, active members receive the following benefits:

  • Membership card issued each year. Membership runs in conjunction with the UNT fiscal year, September 1 – August 31.
  • Twenty-percent ticket discount throughout the program as determined by the Athletic Department, including football single-game and season tickets in the lower bowl and season tickets in the Club Level. Please call the ticket office to receive this discount.
  • Two free general-admission tickets to one regular-season home game, any sport.
  • Ability to vote in the annual Hall of Fame selection.
  • Free admission to the Letterwinners tailgate before every home football game.
  • Free and discounted admission to select association events. Free admission is good for active members and, in some cases, one guest.
  • A UNT Letterwinners Association car decal. Other association gear and apparel will be available for purchase.

North Texas Athletics Hall of Fame

Due to state and university policies surrounding COVID-19, the Class of 2020 Hall of Fame induction dinner will be rescheduled to Spring, 2021. Once a date and time have been selected, information will be communicated via email, social media and on MeanGreenSports.com.

The North Texas Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 1981 to acknowledge former athletes, coaches, and administrators whose accomplishments have brought credit to UNT and had a special impact on Mean Green athletics.

Active, dues-paying members of the Letterwinners Association can vote for each year's class, and the president of the association sits on the HOF selection committee. Voting takes place in spring and the class will be inducted on a weekend when the North Texas is playing a home football game.

Tickets

Active members of the Letterwinners Association receive a twenty-percent ticket discount throughout the program as determined by the Athletic Department. That includes football single-game and season tickets in the lower bowl and season tickets in the Club Level.

Tailgate

Regardless of which sport you played at North Texas, we want all Mean Green Letterwinners to return to campus and participate in the special Letterwinners Association tailgate before every home football game. The tailgate will be held on The Hill just east of Apogee Stadium.

Admission, food, and drink are free for all active members. Just check in at the Letterwinners table at the tailgate location.
