Undergraduate Advising

Current Undergraduate College of Music Students,

Due to the university’s policy regarding COVID-19, we will be advising students through three different mediums:

If you would like to communicate via Email please send your downloaded and filled-out advising record to music.advising@unt.edu. Please allow 1 business day for an advisor to respond.

If you would like to communicate via Zoom, please sign-in for a drop-in appointment at: tinyurl.com/musicwalkin and the first available advisor will email you a link for a Zoom meeting. Please make sure to check your UNT Email for this link, and be prepared for the meeting to start within 30 minutes. You can check the waiting list here. Virtual Drop-in hours are available Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm.

Although remote advising via email or Zoom is recommended, we understand that on-campus advising may be necessary in some cases. We may offer limited in-person advising appointments in Chilton Hall Suite 211 Tuesday and Thursday mornings as well as Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons. These appointments must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Please write to music.advising@unt.edu including your name, id, current music major, phone number if you wish to be contacted by phone, and the purpose of the visit. Please allow one business day for an advisor to respond.  A music advisor will contact you by email or phone to arrange a day and time for your appointment. Please note that UNT requires masks to be worn at all times within campus buildings.  We also ask that you please contact our office to reschedule or meet by zoom if you are not feeling well or are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms on the day of or day before your appointment.

College of Music Undergraduate Advising Office offers academic advising to all undergraduate students interested in majoring or minoring in music at UNT's College of Music. By working with an advisor, students learn about the many resources available to all UNT students. Advisors help students make informed decisions regarding their degree progress and educational planning.

Graduate students should seek academic advising through the UNT College of Music Office of Graduate Studies.
