The Experiential Learning Office primarily focuses on empowering students to be professionally successful through access to profitable networks, professional development skills, and meaningful community connections for post-graduation marketability, networking and employment.
Students will have the opportunity to: (a) apply their educational competencies through experiential learning in the community; (b) deepen their understanding of course content and develop critical thinking through direct research or service based activities; and (c) access resources to enhance their professional development and skill set to become more marketable.

Eronia A. King, MA, LPC, NCC, CMCS
Project Coordinator of Experiential Learning
Eronia King earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Texas Christian University and her Master of Arts degree in Licensed Professional Counseling from Texas Wesleyan University. She has extensive experience in career counseling from her time working for Texas Wesleyan University, the University of Texas at Arlington and the University of North Texas Health Science Center. She also has professional counseling experience in a private practice setting where she assists people suffering from anxiety and depression. Eronia combines her passion for guiding students in their journey with her counseling background to help students achieve their educational and career goals successfully. Currently, Eronia serves as the Project Coordinator of Experiential Learning, connecting students with opportunities to complement their education and support our community.
When she is not advising students and clients, you can find Eronia cooking and eating great food, practicing hot yoga or reading a good book. She has traveled to 5 continents with a goal to hit all 7 at some point in her lifetime! Her unique travel experiences, vast interest in food and exploration of new things has taught her that there is no stranger in this world, just people she hasn’t met yet.

Lea S. Sandoval
Intern
Lea Sandoval attended Texas Christian University (TCU) where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle School Math Education. While at TCU, she was able to study abroad twice --- once in Seoul, South Korea and then to a few cities in Europe. These experiences sparked her interest in the world of international education and she began thinking about working in a university setting to encourage more underrepresented students to go abroad. In order to achieve that goal, Lea decided to pursue a Master of Education degree in Higher Education at Southern Methodist University. Currently, as she gains higher education experience through her graduate assistantship in pre-collegiate programming, she is also wrapping up her final year of the program.
Under Mrs. Eronia King’s guidance, Lea recently joined the Office of Experiential Learning as an intern. In this role, Lea is eager to learn what it takes to provide different types of high-impact experiential learning activities to college students. She is looking forward to learning more about UNT-Dallas and the experience her new colleagues can offer a newbie in the Higher Ed world.
As a DACA recipient, Lea likes to stay up to date on immigration news. She also enjoys traveling to new places and trying food from all parts of the world. She loves spending time with family and dedicates a good chunk of her time to church events. Lea hopes to continue traveling once she earns her second degree. She’s almost there!
