UNT Cares

As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to have an increased impact on our communities, the University of North Texas is taking steps to help keep our Mean Green family safe and healthy.

Faculty and staff members have risen to the occasion, moving 7,700 classes online and finding innovative ways to work while protecting themselves and their families. Our campus community is working tirelessly to serve, empower and inspire UNT students, but we need your help.

Students who must stay at UNT will be sheltered and cared for, but all who are able have been asked to return home and continue their education remotely. Because of these necessary precautions, approximately 1,400 on-campus student employees have been displaced this semester. This does not account for the many students who have lost off-campus jobs or whose families are losing income during this ongoing public health crisis.

How you can help

The UNT Cares fund was created by President Smatresk to help our students persevere as they face unexpected problems related to COVID-19, such as challenges with health, living and educational expenses. Your gift will help us meet immediate and pressing needs and ensure that our students can continue to pursue their educational dreams.

Your generosity will go a long way in helping our students stay safe, healthy and on track to graduate. Together we can show that #UNTcares isn’t just something we say.
