WHAT IF I DO NOT MEET THE ENGINEERING ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS?

For applicants admitted to UNT but not meeting engineering admission criteria, you will be admitted to the College of Engineering as a pre-major. Pre-majors complete the same engineering courses as majors while receiving additional advising. You will transition to a full major when you have completed the requirements below. Here’s the pathway advisors will use to transition you to a full major Engineering student at UNT:

  1. Attend new student orientation and register for the appropriate Math classes. Information on Orientation can be found at http://studentaffairs.unt.edu/orientation-and-transition-programs/programs/orientation/freshman-orientation or http://studentaffairs.unt.edu/orientation-and-transition-programs/programs/orientation/transfer-orientation.
  2. Please review and follow the steps in the “Internal transfer to Engineering” section.
