Financial Aid Application Process

Applying for Financial Aid is not as complex as you might think.  Select the appropriate tab below to learn more about the steps you need to take.  This will give you a good understanding of how the aid application process works and what to expect from Robert Morris University.

Undergraduate

  1. The student and parent both need to apply for an FSA user ID, if they do not already have one, to log into the FAFSA system.  Please note: If the student is over 23, only the student needs an FSA user ID.
  2. Complete the FAFSA.  For the 2018-2019 FAFSA, you will need your income figures from two years prior to complete this step.  For example, for the 2018-2019 FAFSA, you will report 2016 tax return information.  You should be able to use the IRS Data Retrieval tool to pull the necessary information. For the federal school code, please use 003359 for Robert Morris University.  Pennsylvania residents should complete the PHEAA State Grant application at www.pheaa.org by May 1st.
  3. If you plan on using Federal student loans, complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) and an Entrance counseling session at studentloans.gov.

Graduate and Doctoral

  1. The student needs to apply for an FSA user ID, if they do not already have one, to log into the FAFSA system.
