Johnnie Stark
Associate Professor
Johnnie Stark, RID, IDEC, LEED AP ID + C, is an associate professor in the College of Visual Arts and Design at the University of North Texas. In addition to an undergraduate degree in education and sociology from Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas, she received her B.F.A. and M.F.A. degrees in design from UNT. She has over twenty years of commercial project experience including furnishings dealerships, interior and architectural firms, public school project program management, textile design and sales. She has taught upper division interiors courses including intermediate and advanced commercial space planning, green materials, professional practice, internships, and the senior independent study project. Her current research investigates the intersection of sustainable design, interior design education and practice, with a focus on the attitudes, skills and behaviors that characterize sustainable outcomes.
