Eagle Support Program

Our Eagle Support Program provides emergency funding to students in need. The program is a loan-based program that addresses cost of attendance and living expenses (not including tuition and fees) specific to UNT.

     BAILEY

    $1,000 (Academic Year)

    To help students in need to remain enrolled in courses.

     MEMORIAL

    $500 (Fall/Spring/Summer)

    To help students remain enrolled. Loan cannot be used for current tuition, on-campus housing, prior balances, or study abroad payments.

    GREEN

    $100 (Fall/Spring/Summer)

    To help students address small, unexpected expenses.

     PRIOR BALANCE

     BOOTS-TO-BOOKS

    To help student veterans and dependents purchase needed textbooks and course materials at the UNT Official Bookstore.

    $1,000 (Fall/Spring)

    To help juniors or seniors majoring in Accounting or who are pursuing a graduate degree in Accounting at the university. Loan can be used to pay tuition and course materials. Program open only during fall and spring semesters' registration periods.

    TRAVEL

    $1,500 (Fall/Spring/Summer)

    To help students address out-of-pocket expenses to attend conferences or professional development-related programs and study abroad trips.

    *This is the only fund that can assist with addressing tuition and fees, given students meet the fund-specific requirements.

  • General Eligibility Requirements

      The Eagle Support Program provides emergency funding to currently enrolled UNT students in need. The program is a loan-based program. The program addresses cost of attendance and living expenses specific to UNT. The program does not address any current tuition and fees or on-campus housing.

      There are general and fund-specific eligibility requirements. Please see the requirements below. General eligibility for all funds is as follows:

    • UNT Denton campus student
    • Age ≥ 18 years old
    • Enrolled in assistance cycle semester
    • Secured and guaranteed repayment source
    • Student cleared of all financial blocks
    • Minimum 2.0 GPA required. GPA requirement waived for first semester students.

  • General Terms & Conditions

      The Eagle Support Program provides emergency funding to currently enrolled UNT students in need. The program is a loan-based program. The program addresses cost of attendance and living expenses specific to UNT. The program does not address any current tuition and fees or on-campus housing.

      Terms and conditions apply. Please see fund-specific terms and conditions below. The terms & conditions for all funds is as follows:

    • PROCESSING & PROMISSORY NOTE: Once the application is submitted our team will process it and the students will be notified whether the application has been approved or denied, with justification. If an application is approved, students will be required to have a promissory note on file before any funds may be released. A one-time origination fee will be applied at that time.
    • DISBURSEMENT: After the promissory note is on file, the funds will be released to the Student Financial Services Office for final disbursement through BankMobile. Depending on the disbursement preference selected, it can take 1-4 additional business days for the final disbursement of funds to the student by BankMobile. Once funds are disbursed, students are not eligible to apply to any other Student Money Management Center loan for the remainder of the academic year.
    • REPAYMENT: Student Financial Services will post repayment charges to the student’s account. Students are required to pay by the repayment deadline cited on their signed promissory note. Fees cannot be repaid by federally-funded financial aid.
    • CONSEQUENCES FOR NON-PAYMENT: Failure to pay by the set repayment deadline will result in accounts reaching late status. Accounts in late status (one day past the due date) will be assessed a $25 late penalty charge. Accounts in unpaid status (thirty-one days past the due date) will be sent to a collections agency and assessed an additional $25 penalty charge. Transcript and registration blocks will also be applied to unpaid accounts. Students’ eligibility to the program will be restored twelve months after an unpaid account is paid in full

    • Students may apply once (1) per academic year.
    • A one-time $45 origination fee is applied to the loan.

     GREEN FUND

    • Students may apply once (1) per semester.
    • A one-time $3 origination fee is applied.
    • $10 late penalty charge.

     MEMORIAL FUND

    • Students may apply once (1) per semester.
    • A one time 1% origination fee is applied.

     PRIOR BALANCE FUND

    • Students may apply once (1) per college lifetime/academic career.
    • A one-time $45 origination fee is applied to the loan.

     BOOTS-TO BOOKS FUND

    • Students may apply once (1) per semester.
    • Applicant must show evidence of being a student veteran or military dependent.
    • Loan funds are released to Barnes & Noble UNT Bookstore to create a line of credit. 24-Hours are required for Barnes & Noble UNT Bookstore create line of credit.

     SEWELL FUND

    • Students may apply once (1) per semester (fall and spring only).
    • A one-time $45 origination fee is applied

     TRAVEL FUND

    • Students may apply once (1) per semester.
    • No origination fee is applied.
