UNT Jazz Singers Fall Concert #1 is happening at 8 p.m....tomorrow night's concert will be streamed at: http://recording.music.unt.edu/live , so if you're not in the area, you can join us virtually at 8 p.m. (CST). We'll be perf...orming a stylistically diverse program with something for (just about!) everyone to enjoy! You'll hear songs inspired by & arranged by Esperanza Spalding, The Singers Unlimited, Karrin Allyson & Nancy King, Sunny Wilkinson, Avishai Cohen, Sting, Kerry Marsh, Michele Weir & more!       As a choral educator and lover of jazz, I gleaned so much from this workshop last year that I'm returning this summer. The UNT Vocal Jazz faculty and guest clinicians are amazing instructors. I'm looking forward to further refining my teaching skills for my high school jazz ensemble. I highly recommend this workshop for educators as well as young and mature singers who want to refine their jazz vocals. I look forward to meeting many new people this summer!

    Rosana Eckert is so funny....if she weren't such a KILLIN' teacher and vocalist, she could so totally make it as a comedienne, right?!?! Awesome session this afternoon on jazz phrasing, through a spectrum vocal styles....Shirley Horn-esque ballad to fast mambo!

    Very excited that ONE WEEK from today, we'll be into the first full day of the 2013 Workshop...and the weather report is looking GOOD! (Now for us, that means low to mid-90's...I'll take it, since last year the entire week was in the 100-103 range each day for the high!)
