  • People can call the Statewide COVID-19 Mental Health Support Line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week toll-free at 833-986-1919. Texans can dial 2-1-1 (option 6) for information on COVID-19 and local community resources on health care, utilities, food, housing and more.

Please be aware of the following:

  • Counseling & Testing is open remotely from 8am to 5pm. 

  • If you have a scheduled appointment, you will be receiving an email with information about how to proceed with services.

  • We are currently offering Telemental Health Appointments via Therapy Assistance Online (TAO). Please contact our front desk by calling 940-565-2741 (press 2) or (press 9) to leave a voicemail. Email us at counselingandtestingservices@unt.edu using #Secure in the subject line to schedule an appointment.

  • The front desk will return the call via a private phone number. Make sure your phone is not blocking private calls. 

  •   Telemental Health Informed consent must be reviewed prior to accessing a telemental health appointment.

  • If you are experiencing a mental health crisis including but not limited to:

    • I have a current plan to attempt suicide.

    • I have taken recent steps to end my life.

    • I have a current plan to physically harm someone else.

    • I have recently been physically or sexually assaulted.

    • I am experiencing audio and/or visual hallucinations.

    • I have recently been discharged from a psychiatric hospital and need aftercare resources.

    • I was mandated by the Dean of Students.

  • Please contact us at 940-565-2741 and press #1 to be connected to a live counselor for an assessment.

    In the event of a life-threatening emergency, dial 911.

  • Workshops and groups will be held via TAO. For those signed up for closed groups, you will be contacted by your group leader concerning scheduling. Information on accessing workshops via TAO will be posted soon.
