Congratulations on your admission to UNT! We look forward to welcoming you to Texas soon!

Students Admitted to Summer 2020

Can I enter the United States for the first time for Summer 2020 classes?

Based on recommendations from health officials, UNT has made the decision to deliver most summer courses via online learning. As such, newly admitted students cannot enter the U.S. for the first time for Summer 2020 classes.

Can I enroll in Summer 2020 classes while I remain in my home country?

Yes! We hope that you will work closely with your department to determine what classes would benefit your degree program this summer. Please complete the ISSS Webform to notify us of your summer plans. We will send you a follow up email with next steps on how to receive your updated I-20 for Fall 2020.

Can I update my admission from Summer 2020 to a later term?

Yes! Please complete the ISSS Webform to notify us of your plans and we will send you a follow up email with next steps.

I am transferring to UNT from another U.S. institution. What are my options?

You can either enroll in Summer 2020 classes or update your admission to Fall 2020. If you start your enrollment in Summer 2020, you must be enrolled full time. Please complete the ISSS Webform to notify us of your plans and we will send you a follow up email with next steps.

I am a current UNT student who was admitted to a new degree program for Summer. What should I do?

You can remain in the U.S. and start your degree program in the Summer term. Note that if you choose to start your degree program in Summer 2020, you must be enrolled full time. Please complete the ISSS Webform to notify us of your plans and we will send you a follow up email with next steps.

Can UNT send me an electronic copy of my I-20?

Yes. We have received approval from the US Department of Homeland Security to temporarily allow digitally signed I-20s. When your initial I-20 is issued, we will attach it to an email and send it to you. Please print the I-20 for your visa interview and travel to the U.S.

There is currently still time for the U.S. embassies and consulates to re-open and start visa appointments again in time for Fall 2020 arrival. However, if you want to update your admission to a later term, please contact International Admissions at international@unt.edu for more information on how to update your admission.

Log in to the iNorthTX portal using your EUID and password to request an initial I-20. Once you have been accepted and required immigration documentation has been submitted, we will begin processing your request.

Please Note: The last day to submit your initial I-20 request via iNorthTX for Fall 2020 arrival is July 17, 2020.
