New! Declining Balance for Faculty & Staff
You asked for it, you got it!
UNT faculty and staff may now add “Declining Balance” to their UNT ID card.
Declining Balance is a convenient budgeting tool. Use your UNT ID just like a debit card in any of Dining Services’ retail restaurants and dining halls, including our new Starbucks Coffee Stand, Chick-Fil-A and The Campus Chat Food Court.
Once activated, simply tell the cashier your payment method is “Declining Balance” and swipe your UNT ID card.
Purchase your F/S $100 Declining Balance online with credit or debit. The unused portion is refundable at any time. Declining Balance may be added to your ID along with any of our other Faculty/Staff Dining Hall Meal Plan Memberships, such as our most popular plan, the Faculty/Staff 50.
Please allow one business day for activation of your card. To request immediate activation, please call our office at 940-565-2462 during standard business hours. Log in to our Meal Plan Portal to verify your card has been activated and to check your balance.

How To Purchase a Plan
Full-time, benefits-eligible faculty and staff (including teaching assistants, teaching fellows, graduate assistants and all 40 hr/wk employees) may purchase a meal plan online using a debit or credit card.
Meals carry over from semester to semester and unused meal swipes are refundable* at anytime.
Ministers and retired UNT faculty/staff must bring proof of UNT employment to Welcome Center #237 to purchase a Faculty/Staff Meal Plan.
*To request a refund of your Faculty/Staff Meal Plan, please:
1. Download the Refund Request Form (PDF).
2. Complete the section at the top between the two green lines.
3. Email the completed form to Dining@unt.edu, along with your UNT ID number.
