Allen Simpson is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Music Theory at the University of North Texas, where he will also serve as a Teaching Assistant. Before UNT, Allen received his Bachelor’s Degree in Classical Guitar Performance from Appalachian State University and his Master’s in the same concentration from Austin Peay State University. Prior to his decision to pursue Music Theory, he performed frequently as a classical and rock guitarist in both live and studio settings. His Music Theory interests include Theory Pedagogy, Theory of Pop Music, and Improvisation in the Theory Curriculum.
