Audition

Auditions now open for the 2020-21 academic year to study euphonium with Professor David Childs at the University of North Texas (UNT).

Audition Dates

Euphonium auditions will take place at UNT on January 25th and February 29th, 2019. For a guaranteed live audition, applications must be received by December 2, 2019. Applications received after that date will be reviewed, and auditions will be scheduled on a case-by-case basis depending on space availability.

While live auditions are preferred, high quality video auditions can be accepted if you are unable to audition in person. Follow the instructions on the College of Music application to submit your video audition. Applications must be complete on or before February 24, 2019.

Masters and DMA applicants should email collegeofmusic@unt.edu to inquire about deadlines outside of the normal admissions cycle.

Application Process

To apply for a euphonium audition at the College of Music, you must first apply to the University of Texas in order to receive a Student ID# and EUID.

Undergraduate applicants can do this via ApplyTexas or The Common Application. Graduate applicants should apply through the Touluse Graduate School

After you apply and pay the application fee, the process to receive your Student ID# and EUID may take several weeks, but without these items you will not be able to complete your College of Music application. For more information visit UNT Admissions.

Once you have a Student ID# and EUID, complete the College of Music application through Acceptd. This is your application for audition, admission, and music merit scholarships.

Applicants invited for a live audition will be notified through email of their scheduled audition day/time. For more information visit the College of Music Admissions pages: Undergraduate study; Graduate study; International applicants.
