Welcome to the College of Information Community!
Welcome to the new career services website for the College of Information. Our college is dedicated to student success. We know our students work hard and they produce results. We’re passionate about helping them achieve on the pathway to a great career.
The College of Information continues to create partnerships with businesses that call the Dallas-Fort Worth area home. Our college leadership board comprises members from not only top companies like Toyota but smaller businesses with a niche market like Amigos Library Services. Large or small the college can help you make a connection.
On this page you can check on a host of things that will help you in your career goals. One size fits all resumes, does not fit all majors. Keeping your major in mind, use the resume guides to help you craft a resume. You will also find helpful tips such as how to avoid common mistakes on resumes. Students are encouraged to sign up for mock interviews, or practice interview skills using interactive videos on the site. Here are some additional items that will help your process:
• Use a checklist provided by this site before you apply to a position.
• Keep track of career events on a calendar.
If you are unsure of your exact career path visit the COI LinkedIn network group. https://www.linkedin.com/groups/12128282/
The College has identified this LinkedIn group as a hub for the exchange of ideas and opportunities among the University of North Texas College of Information community. This includes students, faculty, staff, alums, supporters, friends and well-wishers. Anyone who has a connection to our three departments of the College’s mission is welcome to join. The LinkedIn group also provides a space where our alums and others can post, jobs or internship opportunities. Students are encouraged can post any questions they may have with respect to the field they are going to join after graduation. The more we interact with each other in the College of Information, the more we can benefit from this forum.
