Performing Arts Medicine

As a performing artist, you recognize that when it comes to health, your needs can be unique.  Your body is an integral part of how you create and share your talents and it requires care and understanding.  Because of our large population of performers at UNT, we have the Performing Arts Medicine Clinic led by Sajid A. Surve, DO.

Dr. Sajid A. Surve is a triple board-certified physician in physical medicine and rehabilitation, neuromusculoskeletal medicine/osteopathic manipulative medicine, and pain medicine. His priority is to enhance performance capacity for each artist with proper treatment and through prevention.  

The Performing Arts Medicine clinic offers a comprehensive range of services including, but not limited to:

  • Performer wellness and injury prevention
  • Injury diagnosis and management
  • Pain management
  • Osteopathic manipulative treatment

Making an Appointment

The campus clinic is located at 1800 Chestnut St.  

You can call to make an appointment at 817-735-2455.

If you are an instrumentalist, please bring your musical instrument to your appointment and be prepared to play about 30 seconds of music that you know well. If you are a dancer or actor, bring your footwear and/or any other equipment related to regular performance activities. Be prepared to perform about 30 seconds of material you know well.  If you have seen another provider for your injury, be sure to bring copies of any medical records, test results, or imaging studies.
